In an effort to provide equal access to the wonders of the internet to ALL users, websites must provide customers who use assistive technologies easy ways to browse. This is done by marking up the code with special instructions to these assistive technologies and designing sites in such a way to make them easy to use. The majority of websites on the internet are not accessible at all! This is now a legal requirement mandated by various world governments and extends not just to websites but to applications, emails, and other various marketing materials.
